egroupware

egroupware

Postby weasel » Sat Mar 13, 2010 1:30 pm

Hi!

Is it possible to install egroupware http://www.egroupware.org here? I'm asking because it's necessary to create two directories outside the root directory http://www.egroupware.org/index.php?page_name=wiki&lang=de&wikipage=ManualSetupConfig&lang=en.

Thanks for your help

Hello weasel,

we have no knowledge with egroupware (only tested long time ago with debian binarys). I think it is possible to run on our webspace but with restrictions because we have no cyrus-imap and our apache is not allowed to use system binarys. It will maybe a problem.

Why do you need that? Maybe you can use another solution. A freehoster is not really the right place for a full groupware.

Thanks for the quick answer.

We need not a whole groupeware! We are six persons who have to plan and handle a project for the next 12 moths. So we need a calendar-function that is able to be synchronize with Smartphone’s (e.g. the iPhone), a task manager, an email client (all members should have access to the mails) and a memo-function. This is necessary because all of us do this project in our spare time and we haven't the time to meet us periodical!

Maybe you know any other solutions that fit our problems!

Best wishes
